Ciclopirox+fluocinolone Acetonide

Ciclopirox+fluocinolone Acetonide is a combination medicine used to treat skin infections caused by fungi. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and causes infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another). Fungal infection symptoms include scaly skin, blisters, itching, swelling, irritation and redness.

Ciclopirox+fluocinolone Acetonide contains Ciclopirox (anti-fungal) and Fluocinolone acetonide (steroid). Ciclopirox works by preventing the formation of fungal protective covering, thereby stopping their growth. Fluocinolone acetonide works by inhibiting the release of chemical messengers that cause inflammation and redness. Together, Ciclopirox+fluocinolone Acetonide helps in treating skin infections.

You are advised to use Ciclopirox+fluocinolone Acetonide for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as burning sensation, irritation, itching and redness at the site of application. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Do not use Ciclopirox+fluocinolone Acetonide if you had a skin reaction or irritation to any steroid medicine. Consult your doctor before using Ciclopirox+fluocinolone Acetonide if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Ciclopirox+fluocinolone Acetonide in more than prescribed doses or on a large area of skin for a longer duration, as it may cause adverse effects. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with a bandage unless advised by your doctor. Ciclopirox+fluocinolone Acetonide is not recommended for children, as safety and effectiveness have not been established. 

Fungal skin infections

Ciclopirox+fluocinolone Acetonide is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area. Take the prescribed quantity/amount onto your finger and apply it directly onto the affected area, gently massage it in if advised.
